He has to move out to get any BAH though. When I came down here to MS it took my husband over 3 months to do all of the paperwork to be able to move out. If you are going down there a month after he does, I would recommend he gets the paperwork going to move out so y'all can get the BAH. He might live alone for a few weeks at the most, but it took too long of ME living by myself waiting on him. He can live in the dorms for as long as he wants. He doesn't have to move out of the dorms right away. However, the day he signs for a house is the day he needs to be out of the dorms (if you are living on base). If you give them the information lets say a week after you move in the BAH payments (which are monthly) will be retroactive. The military wants to take care of their people first and foremost and will not throw them out on the street just because they got married. He should be able to talk to his supervisor and be able to get it worked out, though, because of the situation. They won't process his BAH until he has moved out, though.
