I believe the antichrist (singular) is satan and all his agents are “antichrists” (plural); the word appears four times in the Bible and it seems that the forces of the antichrist (singular) were already at work in the first century when the Bible was penned:
1Jo 2:18 - Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
1Jo 2:22 - Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
1Jo 4:3 - And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
2Jo 1:7 - For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

I doubt he or she or it does know. Even the most evil SOB that has walked on this Earth wouldn’t want it all to go up in flames. I mean hell, even ****** would be like, “That’s a little much.”
Most likely if an antichrist does come into play it will cause the end by thinking it was doing good. I mean look at all the chaos that has happened because of good intentions.

I sometimes think that ****** was the Anti-Christ and that Jesus missed the memo to come back and save us all. So humans had to man up and save ourselves. I think we did okay.

There are many anti-Christs. So all those who say that there have been many false alarms do not quote from scripture. There are many anti-Christs, and they come to try to erase the truth of Yeshua the Messiah. Muhammad, Hitler, Joseph Smith, etc. are all anti-Christs and false prophets.
The final anti-Christ (the one you refer to) has been here since Apostle John’s time. He is fully aware of who he is.

No, I would say that would be impossible. A veil can be placed over the eyes of many people on many issues, but we all know who we really are.
