Who warned us about something and wasn’t believed? Al Gore possibly?

I need to compare someone significant today in our world to Cassandra (who warned people of the future, and was not believed by anyone). I thought about Al Gore and global warming. But did other people believe him at first when he brought up global warming? What are some other important people in today’s society that is like Cassandra?

How long does it take to cure leptospirosis?

If no one knows what it is, here is some information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leptospirosis

Basically, it’s a disease that affects humans and animals. Outbreaks of leptospirosis are usually caused by exposure to water contaminated with the urine of infected animals.

And I’m wondering, how long does it take to cure this disease?

What do you think is the prettiest state capitol building?

Obviously this is a very subjective question. I’ve seen about a dozen of the state capitols in various states across the country and I still believe my home state has the best one (Hartford). Here is a link so you can see all of them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_capitols

Random thought, but the Alaskan and Hawaiian state houses are rather dull!

How can Amazon (and others) charge to download music while it is in the public domain?

I’m thinking of old classical music. Are they charging for the bandwidth or are they just charging because people will pay it rather than going to wikipedia and download it. Thanks.

How much further advanced would we be, if Christianity never existed?

The Ionians discovered the truth about the Sun, the Earth and the stars. But their era ended when their last great scientist, Hypatia, was attacked by a mob of Christians and burnt in 415CE.

The center of science, the Alexandrian Library, was also burnt and destroyed. Scientists had to suffer torture, silencing, imprisonment and death at the hands of Christians who didn’t agree with newly discovered facts about the world
